We want to free people from loneliness.
We call loneliness the hidden suffering of the modern age.
Loneliness does not discriminate. It is widespread and equally affects people of all ages and from all walks of life in our communities, in the city and in the bush.
Friends for Good is a volunteer driven not-for-profit and Australian loneliness pioneer joining the fight against loneliness.
Loneliness is as bad for your health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
Loneliness is worse for your health than obesity.
People experiencing loneliness are more likely to suffer from dementia, heart disease and depression.
We're constantly developing new initiatives that are breaking down the stigma that surrounds loneliness and freeing people from it.

What is loneliness?
We asked the community to tell us what they thought:
Depressing, want to just kill myself.
Not sharing a life with my late husband.
Living on my own and often not communicating with anyone else for several days a week.
Sad, no one cares, out of sight out of mind, invisible.
Having the feeling that you are of no use to anyone and that no one wants your company.
Alone at home, especially in the evenings and nights. nobody to share the days experience with.
Thinking that there is no-one who cares about me thus my life must be a total waste.
Feeling alone even with many people around.
